It is often said that a good healthcare provider never celebrates the 99 patients that they help. Instead, they focus on the one they were unable to help. This philosophy is what drove us to develop this cutting-edge Peripheral Neuropathy Treatment Program.
We have had the pleasure of helping many patients suffering with many different conditions, including
back pain, neck pain, headaches,
knee pain, hip pain,
shoulder pain, and a host of virtually every other type of musculoskeletal condition you can think of. As a practice with a vibrant wellness population, we have built long term relationships with our patients – some have been with our practice since we opened our doors in Roanoke in 2006.
As our patients have aged, we noticed that many developed Peripheral Neuropathy. We saw firsthand the progression of their Peripheral Neuropathy condition – many were forced to stop the activities they had always participated in. These activities varied from working in their yards, shopping, golfing, walking, or even spending time with their families. We watched their lives get smaller and it was very devastating to see.
Like our patients’ physicians, we were taught in our professional training that there were no solutions available to successfully treat neuropathy – only manage their symptoms. Medical standards of care include anti-seizure medications, but we saw the devastating effects of those medications in our own patients. While the quantity of medications increased, their symptoms also continued to worsen – nothing was stopping the progression of neuropathy for our patients. We were beyond frustrated to see the decline and did what we could do to help our patients when they suffered injuries from falls because of their loss of balance from neuropathy.
