Would you like to enjoy all your summer activities pain-free?
Introducing the John Barnes Myofascial Release Approach (JFB MFR) at Balance Wellspace
What's that?!
John Barnes Myofascial Release (JFB MFR) is a type of hands-on therapy that works to release restrictions in your connective tissue or fascia. Fascia is a web that surrounds and connects every muscle, bone, nerve, vessel and organ within us. Restrictions in this web can exert pressures of up to 2,000 pounds per square inch inside our bodies--crushing pain-sensitive structures and causing a "straitjacket" effect that makes us feel stiff and sore. Myofascial Release safely and gently releases this straitjacket allowing your body to be pain-free and active once again. It's a great addition to chiropractic care, making your adjustments easier and longer-lasting.
Who can benefit?
Anyone with soreness, stiffness or chronic pain. JFB MFR effectively treats back, hip, neck, knee, shoulder, jaw and head pains as well as many different diagnoses. MFR is safe and appropriate for all ages from newborn to elder.
How is JFB MFR different from "regular massage"?
The JFB MFR approach uses gentle sustained pressure to areas of fascial restriction throughout the body. This pressure is held for long enough (minimum of 5 minutes) to create a complete and lasting release of the tissues. This time element is what separates JFB MFR from other approaches and what makes it so effective. As a calm and centered therapist applies gentle but firm pressure into areas of tightness a series of bioelectrical and chemical changes happen inside. This results in the reduction of pain and pressure as well as improved overall function all the way to the cellular level. MFR treats the whole person so most report feeling lighter, freer and even calmer & happier once these internal pressures are released.
